ACF National Prize Fund Tournaments List:

The 2017 ACF 11-Man National “The Seres Checker Classic” Branson, MO set a new record as the largest prize fund ever, crushing all prior ACF NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS! Thus encouraging the best checker players in the world to participate.

There has been  some huge checker talented tourneys in the past like Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH and later, 1951 forward at Lakeside, OH with player attendance as a hundred plus but no large cash purse. The 1950 and 1954 Nationals come to mind as large player entrants.

The largest cash prize fund for any ACF checker tournament up until 1978 3-Move Nationals in Murfreesboro, TN was nothing near this amount.  The ACF 31st Nationals 3-Move Tournament held in Murfreesboro, TN on June 9 thru 15 had a smashing record entrants of a 168 players! This was the largest National Checker Tournament to date in both attendance and prize fund.  32 Masters, 79 Majors, and 52 Minors. Total funds raised was $17,214.00 with over $8,000 prize fund payout. This was the heydays of Tennessee checkers under Tom Steagall.

1990 37th Nationals 3-Move Tournament - Trace Inn, Tupelo, MS 8/13-18  1st Time Computers Allowed in Masters (Chinook) - (field of 130 + 7 youth entrants) This tournament gets close to Murfreesboro on attendance.

There were several Las-Vegas Nationals that were in the $6-9K range:  first was 2001 GAYP National “Tom Wiswell Memorial Tourney Held at The 4 Queens Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 5th -11th, with 100 participants = 21 masters,  32 majors,  47 minors.

2002 43rd 3-Move National “Marion Tinsley Memorial Tourney Held at The 4 Queens Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 5th -10th with 66 players = 19 masters,  20 majors,  27 minors.

2003 GAYP National in Anderson, SC August 1st - 8th at Holiday Inn Express - Sponsored by Honea Path Merchants Association  53 entrants & 5 youth players:  10 Masters, 11 Majors, 32 Minors  Prize fund was:  Masters $7,704, Majors $2,650, Minors $1,580, Youth $246 = Total Cash Prize $12,180.00   Honea Path Merchants Association contributed $4+K to this tourney. They sponsored 2004 & 2005 SC Open, and $10K+ toward the 2005 WTM (King vs Moiseyev).

2004 44th 3-Move, 8/1-6 & GAYP Nationals 8/7-12 (unofficial) Held at The 4 Queens Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 8st -12th with 47 players = 13 masters,  16 majors,  18 minors.  Master $3,385, Majors $1,400, Minors 685 Total Cash Prize Fund: $5,470.00 

2005 GAYP National in Dublin Community and Recreation Center, Dublin Ohio June 20-24th and Youth June 18th - 19th  44 entrants & 5 youth players:  20 Masters, 11 Majors, 13 Minors  Prize fund was:  Masters $4,887, Majors $2,240, Minors $1,125, Youth $150 = Total Cash Prize $8,402.00

2006 45th 3-Move Nationals “Edward Bruch Memorial Tourney Held in Traveler's Choice Hotel, Medina, OH June 19-24th with 47 players = 18 masters,  12 majors,  12 minors.  Master $4,223, Majors $1,980, Minors $1,097 Total Cash Prize Fund: $7,300.00

2007 GAYP National “Derek Oldbury Memorial Tourney July 23rd through 27th in Las Vegas at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada  43 entrants players:  17 Masters, 13 Majors, 13 Minors and 10 youth players Prize fund was:  Masters $7,730, Majors $2,305, Minors $1,600, = Total Cash Prize $11,635.00     Arthur Niedernoffer National GAYP Youth Tournament  16-21 Age Group: $4,800.00 + Younger Cash $190.00  +   Total Cash Prize $4,990.00    Grand Total Tournament Cash Prize $16, 624.00  

2008 46th 3-Move National “Gene Lindsay Memorial July 21-25th Held in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Vegas Club Hotel & Casino with 27 players = 11 masters,  9 majors,  7 minors.   Prize fund was:  Masters $5,041, Majors $2,465, Minors $1,315, Youth $530, = Total Cash Prize $9,351.00   This also ends the epoch of Vegas Nationals.

2009 17th GAYP National “Jim Morrison National GAYP Honoree August 3rd through 7th in Lebanon, TN at Americas Best Value Inn & Suite  46 entrants players:  15 Masters, 17 Majors, 14 Minors and 10 youth players Prize fund was:  Masters $7,730, Majors $830, Minors $440 = Total Cash Prize $9,000.  

2010 47th 3-Move National “Richard Fortman Memorial August 1st - 5th Held at Days Inn, Springfield, IL with 45 players = 16 masters,  15 majors,  14 minors.   Prize fund was:  Masters $7,850, Majors $2,540, Minors $1,410 = Total Cash Prize $11,800.00   

2011 - 1st Blitz GAYP Nat., July 25th / 2011 18th GAYP National “The Dr. Richard Beckwith Honoree”  July 26th through 30th in Rodeway Inn & Median Conference Center, at Medina, OH  23 entrants players:  10 Masters, 9 Majors, 4 Minors and 8 Blitz GAYP players  Prize fund was:  Masters $2,340, Majors $465, Minors $195 = Total Cash Prize $3,520.  

2012 48th 3-Move National “Hugh R. Burton Memorial July 30th - August 4th Held at Americas Best Value Inn & Suites, Lebanon, TN with 39 players = 14 masters,  21 majors,  4 minors, & 10 youth.  Prize fund was:  Masters $6,902, Majors $2,983, Minors $700 Youth $150 = Total Cash Prize $10,735.00   

2013 19th GAYP National “Carl Reno Honoree  July 29th through August 3rd in The Holiday Inn at Cincinnati, OH 26 entrants players:  12 Masters, 14 Majors & Minors Prize fund was:  Masters $3,920, Majors $1,280, Minors $250 = Total Cash Prize $5,450.  

2014 Missouri State GAYP Open, The 1st of many excellent “McDaniel/Seres Tournaments” June 21st at Ozark Valley Inn, Branson, MO with 22 players and a Prize fund of $5,225.00  

2015 Missouri Mixer Open, The 2nd of many excellent “McDaniel/Seres Tournaments” June 19th - 21st at Ozark Valley Inn, Branson, MO.  Playing 4 rounds of 3-Move and 4 rounds of 11-Man with 35 players = 19 Masters,  16 Majors, and a Prize fund was Masters $6,616 and Majors $2,245 = Total Cash Prize $8,861.00  

The 50th ACF 3-Move 2016 US National Checker Tournament as “George & Darlene Stallsworth Tournament Honoree”.   This is the 3rd of many excellent “McDaniel/Seres Tournaments” July 27th - 30th at Honeysuckle Inn & Conference Center - Branson, MO with 56 players = 23 masters,  17 majors,  16 minors. Considering: (Daily players' Lunch, snack, coffee, drinks water, shuttle expense to airport, Sponsor complimentary treatment & players dignity dinners, mail, printing, copies trophies, banner) Total funds raised was ≈ $23,680.00.  Prize fund was:  Masters $10,690, Majors $5,065, Minors $2,725 = Total Cash Prize $18,480.07

Considering: (Daily players' Lunches, snack, coffee, drinks water, shuttle expense to airport, Sponsor complimentary treatment & players dignity dinners, mail, printing, copies trophies, gifts, banner) Total funds raised was ≈ $25,175.00.  Prize fund was:  Masters $16,960, Majors $5,065, Minors $2,725 = Total Cash Prize $20,475.00  This Cash Prize Money... crushes all other ACF National Prize Fund Tournaments to date!

2017 “Don Lafferty Memorial” GAYP National Checker Tournament at Comfort Suites - Lebanon, TN July 24th - 27th.  This being the 5th of many excellent “McDaniel/Seres Sponsored Tournaments” with 40 players = 18 masters,  12 majors,  10 minors. Considering: (Pizza Dinner, drinks & water, mail, printing, copies, trophies, plaque, gifts, banner). Total funds raised was ≈ $16,600.00. Prize fund was:  Masters $9,551, Majors $3,560, Minors $2,421 = Total Cash Prize $15,532.00 

2018  3-Move National Checker Tournament at The Plaza Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada  |  Monday thru Thursday, September 17th - 20th. This being the 6th of many excellent “McDaniel/Seres Sponsored Tournaments”  with 49 players = 22 Masters,  15 Majors,  12 Minors. This was the strongest group of Grandmaster checker talent ever assembled at any checker tournament to date.  There were 8 Grandmasters in the field of 22 Masters, and also 1st time all 4 Grandmasters of World Championships representing all 4 checker variation disciplines (Scarpetta - 3Move, Kondlo - GAYP, Moiseyev - 11Man, and Lapin - Pool) were present at a National Checker Tournament.  This was the largest National Tournament Cash Prize Fund To Date! Considering Tournament Expenses: playing room rental ($2,500), drinks&snacks, mailing, printing, copies, trophies, plaque, gifts, banner, carbonless game recorder forms, ballpoint pens, etc. ) = Total Tournament budget was ≈ $37,500.00.  Prize fund was:  Masters $17,200, Majors $8,020, Minors $4,290 = Total Cash Prize $29,510.00

2019 22ndACF GAYP National Checker Tournament “GM Ron King Tournament Honoree” at The Plaza Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada  |  Monday thru Thursday, August 19th - 22nd.  with 20 players = 10 Masters,  10 Majors/Minors. Tournament Expenses: playing room rental ($1,500), snacks, mailing, printing, copies, trophies, plaque, banner, carbonless game recorder forms, ballpoint pens, etc.) = Total Tournament budget was ≈ $8,4750.00.  Prize fund was:  Masters $5,110, Majors/Minors $790 = Total Cash Prize $5,900.00

2020 51stACF 3-Move National Checker Tournament “GM Alex Moiseyev Tournament Honoree” at Marriot Courtyard Tulsa Central, 3340 S.79th. E. Ave., Tulsa, OK | Monday thru Thursday, August 31st - September 3rd. POSTPONED to Fall 2021

2021 51stACF 3-Move National Checker Tournament “GM Alex Moiseyev Tournament Honoree” at Marriot Courtyard Tulsa Central, 3340 S.79th. E. Ave., Tulsa, OK  | Monday thru Thursday, November 29th - December 2nd  |  with 30 players = 16 Masters,  14 Majors/Minors. Prize fund as:  Masters $22,000 ($5,200 to winner), Majors $7,750 and Minors $2,4,15 = Total Cash Prize $32,165.00  This was the most generous and unsurpassed ACF National Tournament to date! Basically, because it was “A Seres Checker Classic” supported by the Seres brothers (David & Kenneth) and Joe & Jeannie McDaniel. This will go down as the most generous & best National Tournaments ever!  Nothing comes close to over $32K prize fund, Free lodging, meals, entry fee, free ACF  & MCA memberships, prize $ and awards.
